The NH25 house is housed in an old canal house built in Amsterdam in the early 17th century. Designed by Standard Studio, it is a modern loft. The entrance is a double-decker garage door, which is part of the house seen from the street. This floor provides space for cars, driving and home theater rooms.
The loft itself is built in the courtyard, where there was no window for natural light to enter the space. To correct this situation, the architects designed a new central courtyard with floor-to-ceiling windows that added the daylight needed in the room. To bring more light, they installed six large skylights to keep the interior bright and spacious.
The open floor plan remains private because there is no window to connect the space to nearby neighbors.
The room is located around the courtyard for easy access.
